More about counseling and schedule of fees at 4:13 Center for Change

Bobbie believes there are three distinct emphases in planning a client’s course of treatment:

  • THERAPY:  Dealing with past issues, seeking closure and learning the lessons that will make life richer and more liberated.
  • COUNSELING:  Dealing in the now, taking lessons learned and determining their validity and health for today’s needs to prepare for tomorrow.
  • COACHING:  Putting it all together to plan for future directions and growth.

After initial assessment of needs and what the client desires of their experience, a mutual treatment plan is developed with specific targets and strategies to reach those targets.

Counseling sessions for individuals are approximately 50 minutes in duration. Couples and families, with their more complicated dynamics, are generally scheduled for 75 minute sessions. Prior to the first session, clients are asked to complete several forms that are needed to help maintain their client file as well as to provide vital information for future treatment. That paperwork can be accessed on this website or in the office prior to the first visit. It is requested that if a client chooses to wait to complete paperwork until their first visit, that they arrive a bit early and do so. This paperwork can be found in the reception area, and copies of the client agreement and other forms are provided to the client.

Counselors are equipped to provide psychotherapeutic services; they do not dispense medications. We work closely with area physicians and psychiatrists to coordinate care for each client, thus prospective visitors will be asked to complete a physician information and consent form prior to their first appointment.
